The International Student Experience at AMA School of Medicine
The AMA School of Medicine offers a unique program for international students who aspire to become doctors. Our one-year plus BS Psychology pre-med program credits subjects like Biology, Physics, and Chemistry for K-12 Indian students, making it easier for them to enter the Medicine program. Upon completion of the pre-med program and passing the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT), students must meet the eligibility requirements set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
International students from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and some African countries make up the majority of those taking the special program.
AMASOM is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI), making our Medicine program equivalent to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree offered in the UK, Australia, India, and other Commonwealth countries. Upon graduation with an MD from AMASOM, Indian students will be able to practice medicine in India with a license from MCI after completing licensing formalities.
